Thursday 17 and Friday, December 18th was held the last European Council of 2015. The leaders of the European Union have addressed two major issues: immigration and terrorism. A golden opportunity to recall that 2016 will not be the year of German weakness, or Merkel.
Atlantico: This Friday, December 18 ended the last European Council in 2015 in which European leaders have discussed immigration and terrorism. So far, Germany occupied a leading role in Europe. What signals suggest that this could again be the case in 2016? Should we expect a "Germany Year" or "Merkel year"?
Gérard Bossuat: What does "leading role" of Germany in Europe? This is primarily due to the favorable economic situation in Germany because we can not say that it comes from a German commitment in the fight against EI.
