HIV self-test: tester of 4 would not go to a testing center

A Illicopharma study, the majority of AIDS self-tests are purchased online. And a tester four would not have made screening approach without this access to Autotest.
Since last September, more than 70,000 AIDS testing self-tests have been sold. According to a survey conducted by Illicopharma as part of the World Day against AIDS, and conducted on a panel of 314 customers, the majority of self-tests have been purchased online. Furthermore, 28% of people who do a test for the first time said they would not have made screening approach without this access to Autotest.

Reasons screening
Three main reasons are cited by buyers POST:

- 63% of buyers are men
- Average age 36.5 years
- 36% of those surveyed made an initial screening of HIV through POST
- 75% of buyers say they are heterosexual, 15% gay men and 10% bisexual.
"Significant difference in behavior man / woman vis-à-vis the self-test, men tend to buy two self-tests in a command, while women are confined to a single test" adds Illicopharma. Why two self-tests? "In 43% of cases, the second self-test is intended for the other member of the couple. And in 57% of cases, it is a way to ensure the outcome or to re-test following a new risk behavior ".
